explore Margate's only working Smock Mill

NEWS

(Jan 2024) The Kent County Council (KCC) public consultation on disposing of the eight windmills that they own (including Drapers Windmill) has now closed.  We will post updates as they happen.

(Feb 2024) KCC have received over 2,000 responses to their consultation.  If you are one of the responders thank you very much.  These are now being reviewed and the analysis will be going to the cabinet committee for discussion shortly.

This runs on Sunday afternoons from the start of June, until late September.  For more information please click here. Additional public events will be advertised here on our website.

Out of season
The windmill is currently only open by appointment or when volunteers are on site. We reopen fully to the public on Sunday 2nd June, 2024.
